Guyana will host the Least Developed Countries/Small Island Developing States Trust Fund Workshop on Human Rights for Latin America and the Caribbean Region next month.
Guyana’s hosting of the event was announced Monday by Minister of State Joseph Harmon.
He said it forms a significant part of a series of regional workshops to be held by the Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights.
Minister Harmon said hosting of the workshop is a further indication of Guyana’s commitment to the promotion of human rights worldwide and especially among Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries.
The LDCs/SIDS Trust Fund was established by the Human Rights Council (HRC) resolution on March 23, 2012.
