Police are probing the robbery of a 17-year-old labourer of Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo.
The victim was identified as Shadrach Bridgemohan; the incident occurred at about 21:00hrs at the route 43 (Linden/Georgetown) bus park.
Bridgemohan was relieved of one Samsung cellphone value $45,000 and $8,000 cash.
Reports are that the labourer was approached by two men, one armed with a handgun, just after exiting a minibus. One of the suspected allegedly choked the victim from behind while his accomplice pointed a gun at the victims face and removed the items mentioned.
The men made good their escape.
Investigations are ongoing.
