Moruca accident leaves one critical

A tragic accident that occurred at Moruca, Santa Rosa Village in Region One has left two persons hospitalized, including one who is in a critical condition.

The accident occurred on the Rinchon Public Road around 09:00 hrs.

Reports are that motor car PJJ 1166 was heading to the Huridiah location while motor car PTT 644 was heading to Kumaka when they collided while negotiating a turn.

Mark Chung, the driver of PJJ 1166 sustained cut and injuries, while his passenger Evadney Atkinson is in critical but stable condition. Both were rushed from the Moruca hospital to Suddie Public Hospital on the Essequibo Coast, to seek additional medical attention.

According to reports, Mr Chung was transporting Evadney to church at Waramuri when he collided with the vehicle driven by Rondell Oslemo, an unlicensed driver while negotiating a turn.

Oslemo escaped with minor injuries and is assisting the Police with their investigation into the accident.
