Pensioner, disabled wife attacked by gunmen


Police are on the hunt for five men who attacked a 73-year-old pensioner and his disabled wife in the wee hours of Friday at their ‘A’ Craig, East Bank Demerara home.

A police report revealed that the victims were asleep in the wooden and concrete two-storey house in the upper flat when they were confronted by the five bandits, two of whom were armed with guns.

Police said that the bandits demanded cash and valuables, ransacked the room and escaped with a 32” flat screen television valued at $70,000.

The incident occurred at around 02:10hrs. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
