Grove Vendor attacked by bandits


Police are investigating the attempted robbery of a 44-year-old vendor, who was attacked by two masked gunmen in the wee hours Tuesday at Post Office Street, Grove East Bank Demerara.

A police report noted that the vendor, who plies his trade from his Canter Truck, was asleep in the tray of the vehicle at around 02:20hrs when the bandits pounced on him and demanded that he hand over his money.

One of the bandits, who was armed with a gun, hit the vendor to the head; the man started to scream and the perpetrators escaped on foot.


Investigations are ongoing.
