UWI student killed in Industry accident
Police are investigating the death of 20-year-old Shivanan Brazlon, who was struck down on the Industry Public Road, East Coast Demerara on Wednesday evening.
Brazlon, a student of the St. Augustine Campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI), and who resided at Cummings Lodge, ECD, was crossing the road at around 17:45hrs when she was struck down by a car, driven by Jonathan Anotozak, a pilot.
Police said that the young lady was with her fiancé, who is also a pilot, at the time of the accident.
She was rushed to the Woodlands Hospital where she died at around 11pm while receiving treatment.
Police are yet to arrest the driver.
