Three masked men invaded a Popular Chinese Restaurant at Lot 264 Bush Lot, East Berbice Corentyne Tuesday and attacked the 46-year-old male owner and his 60-year-old family member.
News Room understands that the family was asleep at around 1:30am when the bandits, armed with guns, gained access by breaking a window and removed the grills.
Reports indicate that one of the bandits pounced on the owner and gun-butted him as he demanded cash.
The abused owner handed over $300,000 while the elderly family member was also beaten and forced to hand over $20,000.
The bandits ransacked the supermarket after assaulting the victims and fled the scene. Police are continuing their investigations.
