Police are investigating the murder of a 20-year-old miner of Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) which occurred about 20:00hrs last night.
According to the police, Daniel George and a 35 year-old miner of Tuschen, EBE, were imbibing at a shop at Barakat Landing, Mazaruni River, when an argument erupted over cigarettes.
The 35-year old fatally stabbed George to his abdomen and right eye with a knife.
The suspect was arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigation.
