Man shot, City Constable stabbed during altercation
An altercation at the City Constabulary Friday morning between an armed rank and a civilian has left both of the injured.
Constable Rawle Bobb is said to be hospitalized with a stab wound to the mouth and the civilian is nursing a gunshot wound to the foot.
Chief Constable, Andrew Foo told reporters at a press conference that the civilian was sentenced to community work by the Magistrate’s Court and completed his duties on Thursday.
However, the man returned to the outpost at about 09:30hrs to inquire about a bicycle which he said was left at the facility but ended up arguing with Constable Bobb.
During the scuffle, a door at the Constabulary was completely broken off and the man reportedly stabbed Bob with “an improvised jucker” to the mouth. The rank, who was armed, shot the suspect to his foot.
They were both taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where they received medical attention and the matter reported to the police.
