A 53-year-old former Policeman was today found guilty at the High Court for raping a 3-year-old girl in 2016.
Deon Aaron, was found guilty by a 12-member jury for engaging in sexual penetration with a child under the age of 16 on March 14, 2016 at village on the East Bank of Demerara.
He was represented by Attorney-at-law, Madan Kissoon. Prosecutors Abigail Gibbs, Seeta Bishundial and Tiffin Lyken represented the State at the trial.
Justice Jo-Ann Barlow remanded Aaron to prison until November 08, 2018 as she awaits a probation report.
Aaron was tasked with taking care of the toddler by her mother, who later found out that the man penetrated her with his finger.
