Female killed in accident, speeding Cop in custody

A Police Constable is in custody following a horrific accident at Bee Hive, East Coast Demerara (ECD) Monday afternoon that claimed the life of 27-year-old Keiolla Thomas of Clonbrook, ECD.

Police Headquarters said that Thomas was the occupant of the car (PWW 5851), which was driven by the cop who is stationed at an ECD Outpost and at about 14:15hrs, they were proceeding south along the eastern side of the road reportedly at a fast rate of speed.

It is alleged that the Cop lost control of the vehicle and collided with two GPL utility poles on the eastern side of the road.

They were taken to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital where Thomas was pronounced dead on arrival.

The driver was treated and sent away. A breathalyzer test was conducted on the cop gave a negative reading (0%).
