Joint Services ranks to vote at local polls tomorrow

Ranks of the Guyana Defence Force, Guyana Police Force & Guyana Prison Service will go to the polls on Friday to cast their vote for Local Government Elections.

According to the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), a total of 7,918 officers are expected to vote at 63 locations countrywide.

In Georgetown, three of the main locations are the Georgetown Prison Officers Conference Room, Brickdam Police Station and Camp Ayanganna.

Chairman of GECOM, James Patterson will also be visiting these locations.

After voting on Friday, all ballot boxes will be taken to GECOM and placed under police guard until November 12th when they will be sorted by local authority or constituency to be dispatched to the respective returning officers for intermixing on Elections Day.

Local Government Elections is set for November 12th, where residents will be electing their leaders to serve as councillors on the various local authority areas which includes 10 municipalities.
