WWT20: Warm-up games begin in Guyana this weekend

Bangladesh became the second team to arrive in Guyana ahead of the Women’s World T20, set for November 9-24.

The Asian side touched down at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport on Thursday evening, and were given a warm Guyanese welcome at the Pegasus International Hotel.

They join the Ireland team, who arrived in Guyana earlier this week and have already had training sessions at the National Stadium, Providence.

Bangladesh are in Group A with defending champions Windies, England, Sri Lanka and South Africa, while Ireland are in Group B with Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and India.

The other teams competing in the Guyana leg of the tournament are slated to arrive this weekend, and early in the new week.

Meanwhile, the first of five warm-up games will begin in Guyana on Sunday afternoon. See below schedule of warm-up games and the 11 World Cup matches. Matches are also being played in St. Lucia and Antigua.
