The day is almost finally upon us and after a month of activities with the delegates, the coronation of the 18th Miss Earth is just a matter of hours away.
Xamiera Kippins has been representing Guyana with a fluency in poise and confidence and has made quite an impact with the environmental works she has been advocating for.
The 23-year-old earth warrior was crowned Miss Earth Guyana 2018 in June of this year and has since early October gone on to the Philippines to take part in the activities and preliminary competitions slated for the contestants.
She earned Guyana the gold medal for South America with her costume designed by Randy Madray depicting the Ole Higue and just recently a silver medal for her talent, a contemporary dance piece to “This Bitter Earth.”
She is a crowd favourite and without a doubt is expected to make a statement on the night of the coronation. Miss Earth focuses on advocacy for the protection and preservation of the environment and Kippins is surely passionate about her advocacy project called Re-BUILD which stands for Recycle, Build, Upcycle and Invest in Lives with Dreams.
Her project turned foundation focuses on curbing the issue of the improper disposal of garbage in Guyana by educating and promoting the Upcycling of plastic and other non-biodegradable based waste materials, as well as development of community centres for the younger generation who she believes, are the key to making the right choices in the aim of preserving our planet.

Miss Earth 2018 Coronation is slated for November 3rd at 8pm in the Philippines and 8am local time (in Guyana).
