The 118 passengers who were on board the Fly Jamaica aircraft that crashed landed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) Friday morning, was briefed by Minister within the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Annette Ferguson.

The passengers were safely evacuated after the plane crashed into a fence off the runway and came to a halt after being stuck in a pile of sand.

There were two infants on board and five persons have since been treated for minor injuries at the Diamond Diagnostic Centre.

News Room understands that the passengers are still at the airport as authorities carry out their investigation into the cause of the crash.

The flight was destined for Toronto Canada when the Pilot encountered ‘hydraulic issues’ some ten minutes after takeoff from the CJIA.
