Unidentified motorcyclist killed in Mon Repos accident

An accident which occurred just after midnight on Friday on the Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD) public road has resulted in the death of a motorcyclist, who is yet to be identified.

Police Headquarters revealed that at about 01:15hts, motor lorry GRR 6081 was proceeding east along the northern carriageway of the road while the motorcycle – CG 3711 – which was speeding north along the access road, suddenly turned east and collided with the lorry’s right side.

The police report noted that the cyclist’s head came into contact with the truck’s rear right wheel and he died on the spot.

The body is presently at the Lyken’s Funeral Home awaiting identification and a post-mortem examination.

The driver, of Beterverwagting Housing Scheme, ECD, passed a breathalyzer test and is in custody assisting with the investigation.

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the deceased.
