LGE 2018: APNU takes clean sweep of Georgetown

Preliminary results released by the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) reveal that A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) has registered an almost clean sweep in Georgetown, winning 14 of the 15 constituency seats.

APNU also registered wins in Bartica, New Amsterdam and Linden, while the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) won Mabaruma, Lethem, Rosehall, Corriverton and Anna Regina.

The Department of Public Information reported that the Township of Mahdia, Region 8 show APNU leading with 5 seats, followed by AFC with 2 seats and PPP with 1 seat.

Preliminary results for the majority of Neighbourhood Democratic Councils (NDCs) were not released by GECOM.
