A man was Sunday morning arrested for discharging a firearm in the air at Vryheid’s Lust, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
He was taken into custody after a police patrol responded to a report of someone firing a gun indiscriminately, the Guyana Police Force said.
However, upon arrival at the scene, the suspect fled the cops, who successfully gave chase and apprehended him at the Better Hope Public Road.
He had in his possession two live 9mm ammunition, police said. Police said the suspect, who remains in custody, is not cooperating with investigators.
