Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a minibus on the Good Hope Public Road, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on Saturday night .
Dead is Imran Khan, 36, of Annandale, ECD.
The 65-year-old driver of the minibus BHH 8465 alleged that the pedestrian “suddenly ran across the road”, according to the Guyana Police Force (GPF).
Reports indicate that the minibus was proceeding west along the southern carriageway of the road when its left side collided with Khan.
Khan was picked up by the minibus driver in an unconscious state and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver, who passed a breathalyzer test, is in custody assisting with the investigation.
