Illegal guns, ammo found during ‘stop and search’

Police ‘stop and search’ operations on Monday in Divisions ‘A’ and ‘G’ unearth illegal guns and ammunition.

A statement from the Police Headquarters revealed that at around 14:30hrs, a car with three occupants was searched on the Charity Public Road and two 9mm pistols, three magazines and 58 live rounds were found.

On the Linden/Soesdyke Highway in the vicinity of the Highway Base Outpost, a minibus was searched at about 19:30hrs and a male passenger was found to be in possession of an unlicensed.38 revolver with a live ammunition as well as a spent shell.

Simultaneously, a car was stopped on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway by another police patrol and an occupant was found in possession of sixty-three grams of cannabis.

All of the suspects are being processed for court.
