French Guiana defeated Guyana’s Golden Jaguars 2-1 in the Concacaf Nations League on Tuesday at the Stade Municipal Dr. Edmard Lama in Cayenne.
French Guiana started strong and was rewarded with a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute through Jules Haabo.
The momentum remained on French Guiana’s side and just moments into the second half, Haabo struck again with a fine right-footed finish.
Guyana would not go away though and Neil Danns made it a one-goal game again, 2-1, by sweeping in a shot off a corner kick in the 60th minute.
But French Guiana held on to claim three points, while Guyana left empty-handed.
