A 35-year-old farmer of Moco Moco Village, Central Rupununi was arrested at Kumu Village on Saturday for allegedly cultivating Cannabis.
Police said acting on information received, a visit was made to the area where the farmer was discovered tending to the prohibited plants.
Ranks found the approximate one and half acres of cultivation with about 100 seedlings and 300 plants, measuring between one foot to four feet in height. The farm was photographed, samples obtained and then destroyed by fire.
The suspect is being processed for court.
