A 39-year-old man was Tuesday afternoon found hanging from a tree shortly after he severely wounded his reputed wife amid a counselling session, police said.
Ian English of Kuru Kururu Squatting Area and his reputed wife Malicia Andrews, 30, were experiencing domestic problems and were being counselled by Andrews’ mother at her home at Swan Village, Linden Soesdyke Highway when the incident occurred.
Police Headquarters revealed that amid the counseling session, English reportedly stormed downstairs, returned with a cutlass and inflicted several chops about the body of Andrews.
He then cut a piece of rope and ventured into the nearby bushes, police said.
Shortly afterwards, he was discovered hanging from a tree.
Meanwhile, Andrews is in a critical condition at the Surgical Theatre of the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
