Three men were Monday afternoon arrested after they were found to be in possession of two illegal guns and a false license plate.
The men were intercepted by police officers at the Infiniti Gas Station at Princess and High Streets around 17:00hrs.
Those arrested are Casey Chapman, 27, of Sophia; Adam McDonald, 30, of Amelia’s Ward in Linden; and Sheldon Andrews, 24, of West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme.
Chapman was reportedly in the driver’s seat of a parked Premio motorcar bearing registration number HC 5573. McDonald was in the front passenger seat while Andrews was standing at the driver’s side window talking to the driver.
A search of the motor vehicle uncovered two firearms: a 9mm Pistol with 12 rounds of ammunition and a 32 Taurus Pistol with a magazine of 7 rounds.
Ranks also found a pair ‘paste on’ registration plates bearing the number PRR 4987.
The men were escorted to the Ruimveldt Police Station, where they were placed in custody.
The weapons and ammunition were marked and sealed in their presence then lodged.
They are in custody awaiting charges.
