A 17-year-old Albouystown, Georgetown resident was remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan Friday for the offense of attempted murder.
Christopher Shannon was not required to plea to the indictable offense, which alleged that on November 10, 2018, at Kaneville, East Bank Demerara (EBD) he attempted to murder Brain Spooner.
The teen was represented by Attorney-at-law Stanly Moore who made an application for bail.
Police Prosecutor, Neville Jeffers opposed bail based on the seriousness of the offense and the fact that a gun was used in the commission of the crime.
The Chief Magistrate remanded the teen to prison until December 18.
According to reports, on the day in question, there was an argument between Spooner and Shannon, who pulled out a firearm and shot the victim to his chest.
Spooner was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state.
