District 10 takes ‘Nationals’ title again

The 58th National Schools Athletics, Cycling and Swimming Championship concluded on Friday evening with District 10 (Upper Demerara/Kwakwani) winning a fourth consecutive Champion of Champions title.

After proceedings ended at the National Track and Field Centre at Leonora, it emerged the District 10 had notched up 66 points, 12 more than their nearest rivals, District 11 (North Georgetown).

Final points standing:

Upper Demerara/ Kwakwani (District 10) – 66 points

North Georgetown (District 11) – 54 points

South Georgetown (District 13) – 54 points

West Demerara (District Three) – 50 points

East Georgetown (District 12) – 47 points

Corentyne (District Six) – 46 points

New Amsterdam (District 15) – 44 points

East Coast Demerara (District 4) – 42 points

Bartica (District Seven) – 39 points

West Coast Berbice (District Five) – 34 points

East Bank Demerara (District 14) – 34 points

North West (District One) – 32 points

Essequibo Coast/Pomeroon (District Two)- 28 points

Rupununi (District Nine) – 20 points

Potaro Siparuni (District Eight) – 19 points
