A 65-year-old Security Guard was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital on Saturday after he was struck down by a pick-up at around 14:00hrs.
Dead is Muneshwar Narine of Lot 15 Supply, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara.
Police said that Narine was riding along the Danzie Public Road, Mahaicony when he veered into the path of the pick-up PNN 8778 and collided.
The pick-up was being driven by a 36-year-old resident of #53 Village Corentyne, Berbice, who passed a breathalyzer test.
He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
