Prison raid: Weapons, phones other prohibited items discovered

A joint search operation by ranks of the Guyana Police Force and the Prison Service on Friday morning at the LusginanPrison, East Coast Demerara and the Georgetown Prison resulted in the discovery and seizure of a number of prohibited and illegal items.

At the Lusignan Prison, ranks found four improvised weapons, 30 razor blades, four small plastic containing a quantity of cannabis, six cell phones, a pair of scissors, a spoon, two cell phone batteries, two nails, five earpieces, seven chargers, a quantity of wire, nine needles, three geometry set compasses, five sim cards, two memory cards, a broken glass and 10 lighters. 

At the Georgetown Prison, the ranks found 13 cell phones, three cell phone chargers, eight packs, and ten looseBristol cigarettes, 21 cigarette lighters, 226 grams of suspected Cannabis, a quantity of improvised weapons, small transparent zip loc bags and three hacksawblades.
