Update: Two killed in Ogle accident

A pillion rider who was on Saturday night killed in an accident on the Ogle Public Road has been identified as 18-year-old Rameshwar Singh of Lot 6, Area B’ Cummings lodge, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

The driver and owner of the motorcycle CJ 6360, 20-year-old Jason Harris, also of Cummings Lodge, subsequently died at the GeorgetownPublic Hospital at around 6:30hrs Sunday from the injuries he sustained in theaccident.

Both bodies are lying at the GPHC mortuary awaiting a post mortem.

News Room earlier reported that the motorcycle collided withmotor Jeep #PGG 8844, which was driven by a 20-year- old resident of Campbellville, Georgetown.

Police said the motor jeep was proceeding east along the northern carriageway of the public road and as he was turning on to the Ogle Access road, the motorcycle which was proceeding west along the said Access road collided with the front of the motor jeep.

Singh and Harris were both unconscious.

A breathalyzer test was conducted on the driver and no alcohol was found in his system.

He is in custody assisting with the investigation.
