Archery Guyana shares plan of action with Dr. Norton

Newly-elected President of Archery Guyana, Mohamed Khan, and his delegation of Directors of Archery Guyana paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Social Cohesion, Dr. George Norton, at the Ministry’s headquarters on Main Street.

During this visit they discussed with the Honourable Minister Norton their development plans whilst updating the Minister of the progress of Archery Guyana thus far.

Their proposed Junior Archery Programme, Schools Programme and Para-Archery Programme was discussed. They agreed to pursue more outreach programmes.

Earlyin the new year, Archery Guyana will be hosting an International Olympic Judge,who will be conducting a Judges’ training seminar.

This event comes on the heels of the Level One Coaching training seminar organised by Archery Guyana, whereby 19 National Archery Coaches were certified by the renowned International Olympic Coach Phillip Greaves.

Persons interested in becoming involved as Judges in the sport are urged to engage with Archery Guyana early to be able to benefit from the said Judges seminar.

The Minister expressed his commitment to continue working with Archery Guyana,especially in taking the sport going into the hinterland areas of Guyana.

The Ministry and Archery Guyana agreed to collaborate to build a stronger working relationship in promoting and developing the novel sport for the benefit of all Guyanese.
