A 42-year-old Police Sergeant is in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital following an accident Sunday night on the Herstelling Public Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
Police reported that Sergeant Joseph Elton Ambrose who is stationed at AlberttownPolice Station and resides at
The motor lorry GLL 5592 police said, was properly parked.
Ambrose was picked up in an unconscious state by public-spirited citizens and rushed to the Diamond hospital where he was treated and transferred to the GPHC.
Sergeant Ambrose is currently on accumulated annual vacation leave, the police statement noted.
