Former PS, now Coordinator of Int’l Conferences, being paid over $700, 000

Mr Reginald Brotherson, the former Permanent Secretary (PS) in the Department of Public Service, is now employed as a Coordinator ofInternational Conferences.

Quizzed by Opposition Parliamentarian, Juan Edgehill during consideration of the budget estimates on Monday, Minister of the Department of Public Service, Dr Rupert Roopnaraine revealed that the Coordinator is being paid the sum of $721, 211.

Checks by the News Room revealed that Brotherson occupies the position.

Brotherson was appointed Permanent Secretary in the Department of Public Service after the Coalition Government took office in May 2015 but is no longer in that position.

His new position also falls under the Department of Public Service within the Ministry of the Presidency.

A new Permanent Secretary, Andrew Grant, has been serving in the position from the start of September 2018.

Brotherson once served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs under the former PPP Government.
