Teen remanded for armed robbery, accomplice escapes police custody

A 19-year-old resident of Albouystown, Georgetown was remanded to prison Tuesday by Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan for the offence of armed robbery.

Samuel Forde, a Labourer was charged jointly with another suspect, Trevor Glasglow,however, prior to his court appearance, Glasglow escaped from police custody atthe Ruimveldt Police Station.

The charge against Forde alleged that on December 8, 2018 at Charlestown, while being armed with a knife and in the company of another, he robbed Patrick Paulof a quantity of gold jewelry with cash and other items amounting to $183,000.

Police Prosecutor, Gordon Mansfield requested for the charge to remain indictable since the victim is still hospitalised due to the injuries he received to his head from Forde.

The Prosecutor did not disclose the facts regarding the armed robbery but asked that bail is refused.

The Chief Magistrate remanded Forde to prison until January 2, 2019 and issued an arrest warrant for Glasglow.
