The KFC Goodwill football tournament has received another boost, this time from leading engraving and trophy designers Trophy Stall who will be helping to offset the expenses of the six main trophies.

At their South Road and Bourda Street location on Monday, they made their commitment to the tournament which features four teams: 2017 Trinidad and Tobago South Zone School champs,Shiva Boys Hindu College, Annai Secondary, Annandale Secondary and Christianburg Wismar Secondary, the latter two would have recently topped the GuyOil School League.

Representative of the entity, Kevin Eshwar, told the gathering that their support for the tournament is aligned to continued efforts to ensure their arm of benevolence is always extended for sports in Guyana.

Eshwar further stated their previous relationships with the Petra Organisation, a group which places emphasis on youth development, gave them confidence to align themselves once more.

Troy Mendonca, Petra’s Co-Director noted, this support is most valuable since while it seems small, it goes a long way in assisting their ambitions of developing youth football in the country.

The Annai players are expected to arrive from Region Nine on Wednesday, while the Trinidadians will arrive on Thursday for Saturday’s opening day of the round-robin tournament.

On Saturday, Annandale clash with Christianburg from 17:00h, followed by Shiva Boys and Annai from 19:00h. On December 18, Christianburg and Annai will do battle, followed by Shiva Boys and Annandale while the final day of action, December 22, the Annandale and Annai game precedes the Trinis clash with the lads from Linden.

All matches will be played at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue, and patrons will be charged $500 for entry.
