At the conclusion of the trial at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court, Magistrate Ally found Brijmohan of Albouystown, Georgetown, guilty of causing death by dangerous driving.

He was on bail during the course of the trial.

The case was prosecuted by Special Prosecutor, Sanjeev Datadin and Brijmohan was represented by Attorney-at-Law, James Bond.

Brijmohan, a Goldsmith, was the driver of the car while his friend was seated in the passenger seat.

It was the Prosecution’s case that he was speeding at the time, lost control and collided with a fence at Sparendaam, East Coast Demerara.

The court was told that Brijmohan was racing with another car at the time of the accident.

When contacted, Attorney Datadin told News Room that Baichan’s family believes that justice has been served.
