A long-standing partnership opened another chapter on Friday when Metro Office and Computer Supplies presented a hefty sponsorship package to the Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club (KMTC).

An alliance, which started several years ago, was strengthened when Honourary President of the Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club, Justice Cecil Kennard, received a cheque valued $1 million, along with a massive trophy.

The sponsorship will go towards the main event, which is the E and Lower, at the Club’s annual Boxing Day race meet at the Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club at Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne.

The feature race will cover a distance of seven furlongs, with the top prize being $800,000.

Justice Kennard said the Turf Club is indeed grateful for the support of corporate entities like Metro, since it is quite costly to pull off a horse race meet.

He commended the company’s President/CEO, Ron Ramnarayan, for fuelling what is now a decade-old partnership with the Turf Club.

The 82-year-old horse racing administrator added that patrons can look forward to an exciting day of racing, featuring the leading animals in the country.

Meanwhile, Administrative Assistant of Metro Office and Computer Supplies, Shivanie Sooklall, said the establishment is pleased to once again align itself to what is widely known as the season-ending horse race meet in Guyana.

Apart from the main event, there will be six other races, the first of which will gallop off at 12:30h.

They include the L-Non Earners 2018, Two-Year-Old Guyana Bred, H1 and Lower, L-Non Winners, Three-Year-Old Guyana Bred and L Class Open.
