A mother of seven appeared before City Magistrate, Fabayo Azore accused of attempting to murder her reputed husband because he allowed his ex-wife into their home.

Kendrea Grant, 39 of West Ruimveldt, Georgetown was not required to plea to the attempted murder charge, which alleged that on November 12, 2018, at her home, she wounded Otis Bailey with intent to commit murder.

Grant was represented by Attorney-at-law Stanley Moore, who applied for bail on the grounds that the woman is not a flight risk and is employed as a Clerk at a law firm.

Police Prosecutor, Simone Payne objected to bail based on the seriousness of the charge.

The Magistrate, however, released Grant on $150,000 bail and adjourned the matter to December 21, 2018.

The court heard that Grant and Bailey were involved in a heated argument after the man allowed his ex-wife to visit the home.

A scuffle ensued when it is alleged that Grant stabbed him in the ribs; Bailey was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he underwent surgery.
