Police ranks who attempted to arrest a Construction Worker for the possession of two illegal guns and ten live ammunition shot him twice on Saturday at his Back Street, Grove East Bank Demerara home.
According to a brief police report, the 39-year-old man has been on the police radar for some time now; the illegal guns and ammo were found on his premises.
However, Police Headquarters said that the suspect attempted to escape and he tried to disarm the ranks during which he received two gunshot wounds.
He is presently receiving medical attention under police guard.
A female, who was found at the suspect’s home, has been detained.
