Tuschen youth killed in Linden accident

A 25-year-old labourer, who was lying on the side of the One Mile Public Road at Wismar Linden, was killed after a hire car driver drove over him Sunday morning.

Intiaz Mohammed of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo was pronounced dead on arrival at the Linden Hospital.

Police said that hire car HC 8814 was being driven by a 22-year-old man of Wisroc Housing Scheme, who alleged that another vehicle in the opposite direction blinded his vision with his bright lights and caused him to drive over the young man who was lying on the southern side of the road.

The incident occurred at around 03:00hrs.

The driver was taken into custody and his vehicle lodged.
