IPL AUCTION: Delhi Capitals buy Sherfane Rutherford

Guyanese all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford will head to Delhi Capitals for the 2019 Indian Premier League. The hard-hitting left-hander, who entered the auction with a base price of 40 lakh, was bought for two crore (US$280,000).
Rutherford rose to prominence in the Global T20 Canada earlier this year, blasting 134 not out off 66 balls in a must-win game for West Indies B against eventual champions Vancouver Knights.
He also ransacked 45 not out off 13 balls, inclusive of six sixes, for Guyana Amazon Warriors against Trinbago Knight Riders in the Hero CPL at Providence in September.
Fellow West Indian Oshane Thomas was snapped up by Kings XI Punjab for 1.1 crore.
