The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has shortlisted 16 players to represent Guyana in the four-day GFF-ExxonMobil International Futsal Festival, scheduled to take place at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall from December 27-31.

The shortlisted squad was drawn from an initial 45 who have been in training for the past two weeks under the watchful eye of the Head Coach Bill Wilson and technical staff.

Among the squad are seasoned futsal players including Daniel Wilson, Andrew Murray and Eusi Phillips along with the two Goalkeepers. Trials for the national selection began on December 8 at the National Gymnasium with players from across Guyana contending for a spot after which a shortlist was done.

The festival will kick off with six matches that will be played between 18:00h and midnight with each match being played on the hour culminating with the final match at 23:00h.

The teams, which include Morvant Caledonia United from Trinidad and Tobago, ZV All-Stars from Suriname, and a São Paulo selection from Brazil, will be placed in two groups.

The locally participating teams are an East Coast All-Stars, Linden All-Stars, Georgetown All-Stars and West Demerara All-Stars. The winning team will pocket $1.2 million, while the losing finalist will receive half that amount.

Third and fourth-placed finishers will pocket $300,000 and $100,000 respectively. Admission to the event will be $1,000.
