Linden youth remanded on murder charge

A 22-year-old Linden resident was on Monday remanded to prison for the capital offence of murder.

Michael Emmanuel appeared before Magistrate Dylon Bess and was not required to plea to the charge which alleged that on December 21, 2018 at Lot 7 West Watooka Linden he murdered Leonard Peters also known as Lenny.

He was unrepresented and was remanded to prison until January 8, 2019.

According to a statement from the police, Peters was at a social event where it is alleged that he “accidentally spilled alcohol” on a resident of the area.

This resulted in a physical confrontation and at around 22:00hrs, Peters was observed bleeding from a wound in the left side chest.

He was rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex where he died while receiving medical attention.
