Truck driver dies in Mahaicony accident

Thirty-nine-year old Travis Isaac of Tempie Village, West Coast Berbice (WCB) was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital early Friday morning after the truck he was driving crashed on the Airy Hall Public Road, Mahaicony East Coast Demerara.

Two other occupants of the sand-laden truck also received injuries and were treated. They have been identified as 20-year-old Akeem McPherson and Kurtis Elliot, 20, both of Plantation Ross, WCB.

Police said that Isaac was driving motor lorry GWW 6018 just after midnight east along the northern side of the road and while going around a right bend, he lost control and ended up on the eastern side of the road in a trench.
