A driver succumbed to his injuries at the Skeldon Public Hospital hours after he crashed into a parked tractor on the eastern parapet of the #67 Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice Tuesday morning.
According to the police, 49-year-old Jaggernauth Ramcharran, the driver of motorcar HB 1876 of Grant 1802, East Berbice Corentyne, was proceeding north along the western carriageway of the road at a fast rate.
At about 03:15hrs, he reportedly swerved from some stray animals and collided with the tractor.
In the vehicle at the time was 22-year-old Akesh Koochamala of #65 Village, Corentyne.
They were rushed to the Skeldon Public Hospital where Ramcharran later succumbed.
Koochmala is currently admitted in a stable condition at the New Amsterdam Hospital.
