Nine acres of Marijuana farms destroyed

Ranks of the Guyana Police Force on Tuesday destroyed nine acres of marijuana farms in the Upper Demerara Region along with thousands of cannabis plants.

Police Headquarters revealed that the ranks first visited 10 Miles Millie Hide Out, Upper Demerara River where they discovered one acre of marijuana farm with 1500 plants along with a make-shift camp.

About a mile and a half away, another four acres of marijuana farm was found with about 4500 cannabis plants measuring 3-8 feet in height along with nursery with about 3000 plants.

At this location, ranks found two makeshift camps.

A further three miles away, another four acres of marijuana farm was found with about 3000 cannabis plants measuring about 2-8 feet in height along with nursery with about 3500 plants. There were four makeshift camps.

The plants and camps were destroyed by fire and the location was marked for further investigation.

Police did not find anyone at the farms.
