Defending champions Guyana Jaguars have been forced to make three changes to their squad to face Windward Islands Volcanoes in fourth round action of Cricket West Indies’ Professional Cricket League Regional Four-day championship.

The match is slated to start on Thursday (January 10) at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence. Action will bowl off at 09:30h on each day.

According to the Guyana Cricket Board, batsmen Chandrapaul Hemraj and Vishaul Singh and all-rounder Raymon Reifer have been called up for Windies duty.

The trio is expected to feature in a West Indies Board XI to face England in a warm-up game in Barbados starting January 15, ahead of the three-match Test series, beginning eight days later.

Jaguars have drafted in Test players Shimron Hetmyer and Keemo Paul and opener Trevon Griffith as the replacements.

While Hetmyer and Paul will be playing their first match this season, Griffith gets another opportunity to prove his worth. In two matches this season, his returns haven’t been impressive, as scores of 18, 23, 12 and 13* would suggest.

Jaguars, aiming for a fifth consecutive PCL title, lead the points standing after three rounds with 58.4 points, way ahead of Leeward Islands Hurricanes on 43.6.

The squad reads: Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Trevon Griffith, Shimron Hetmyer, Leon Johnson, Keemo Paul, Anthony Bramble, Christopher Barnwell, Romario Shepherd, Veerasammy Permaul, Gudakesh Motie, Keon Joseph, Sherfane Rutherford, Clinton Pestano, Ramaal Lewis and Tevin Imlach.

The management team comprises Esuan Crandon – Head Coach, Rayon Griffith – Assistant Coach/Manager and Neil Barry Jnr – Physiotherapist.
