Two construction workers, who are no strangers to the court and to the police, were remanded to prison on Friday by Magistrate Leron Daly for allegedly possessing an illegal gun and ammunition.

Lloyde Sadloo, 37, of Mocha, East Bank Demerara and Seon Bourne, 24, of High Street, Georgetown pleaded not guilty to the two charges.

It is alleged that on January 7, 2019, at Vlissengen Road, Georgetown, they had a .38 pistol along with four matching rounds of ammunition.

They were represented by Attorneys George Thomas and Adrian Thompson.

Police Prosecutor Sanj Singh told the court that police intercepted the duo in motor car PWW 5460 which was parked in front the 1763 monument.

The gun and ammo were found inside the car; both men denied ownership and were escorted to the Brickdam Police Station.

The Prosecutor told the court that Bourne is wanted by the police in connection with two armed robberies and simple larceny.

The court was further informed that Sadloo was sentenced to four years imprisonment in 2016 for trafficking narcotics but was released on bail pending his appeal.

Sadaloo is also before the court for allegedly robbing five persons of $2.4 million in 2018. He is currently on trial and is out on bail.

They were remanded to prison until February 15, 2019.
