PCL: Chanderpaul, Shepherd and Paul stifle Volcanoes at Providence

Guyana Jaguars were in command at stumps on day two of their fourth round PCL game against Windward Islands Volcanoes at Providence on Friday. Volcanoes ended the day in disarray at 99-5, still 353 runs away from Jaguars first innings total.

The Volcanoes were rocked by a fiery four-wicket burst by West Indies all-rounder Keemo Paul, who ended the day with 4-24.

Earlier, defending champions Jaguars, resuming on 307-6, declared on 452-9 with opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul ending not out on a marathon 116 off 484 balls. The left-hander faced an astonishing 413 dot balls.

Romario Shepherd, the overnight batsman with Chanderpaul, scored 72 to compliment Anthony Bramble’s first day 168. Josh Thomas took 4-93 for Volcanoes.
