A 21-year-old construction worker was on Sunday morning killed in an accident on the New Amsterdam Public Road.
According to the police, Colin Troy of 51 Stanleytown, New Amsterdam, Berbice, was proceeding along Alexander Street, New Amsterdam, at a fast rate on his motorcycle #CJ 6063.
Police said that at about 03:30hrs, he lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a utility pole on the southern parapet.
Troy was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
He was not wearing a safety helmet at the time of the accident.
The body is presently at hospital’s mortuary awaiting a Post Mortem Examination.
