PCL: Jaguars runaway points leaders after four rounds

Following another commanding win at the weekend, Guyana Jaguars have further solidified their position on the points table, creating a huge gap between them and the second place team in Cricket West Indies’ Professional Cricket League Regional Four-day championship.

The Jaguars thumped Windward Islands Volcanoes by eight wickets at Providence to strengthen their lead at top of the pile with an astonishing 80.2 points, way ahead of Leeward Islands Hurricanes, who sit in second on 43.6.

While the Jaguars gained 48 points from the four victories to date, they have been outstanding in picking up bonus points. They have raked in 11 batting and 12 bowling points thus far, along with 9.2 pace bowling points.

Windward Islands Volcanoes are in third on 42.8, followed by Barbados Pride on 29.8, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force on 28 and Jamaica Scorpions in the cellar position on 14.4.

The Jaguars are aiming for a fifth consecutive PCL title under the leadership of Leon Johnson.
